Andy and Phil are the joint directors of BML. We have each worked in air safety for over 25yrs, sit on the current ICAO Wildlife Hazard Management (WHM) Expert Group, wrote the EASA together for safety initiatives for WHM and both work across the world to assist airports, airlines and the insurance industry with delivering best practice standards.
Andy Jowett
Wildlife Hazard Management Consultant
Andy currently heads our UK airport compliance check program and has over 20 years direct experience in wildlife hazard management at airports.
Andy leads on many of our specific customer projects, is embedded across UK training programs and development and provides deep ornithological understanding and experience to help our clients reduce the risks they face from birdstrikes.
Lee Johnson
Ornithological Consultant
Lee is one of the UK's foremost birdwatchers, leads on several of our projects and heads up our periodic standards check program for the RAF and other military bases around the world. Lee has over 25 years ornithological experience at aerodromes across the UK and Europe and is fully engaged with management development within the company.
Sara Bone
Safeguarding and Remains Consultant
Sara heads up our safeguarding, development and bird / wildlife hazard management planning projects for developers. Sara provides over 20 years experience of assisting aerodromes, planners and developers in meeting and delivering safe developments around aerodromes.
Jon Middleton
Aviation Ornithologist
Jon continues to directly deliver much of our on and off-airfield and offshore monitoring and advisory projects and provides support and delivery across the team for our training, compliance check and monitoring programs.
Dr John Allan
Senior Ornithologist
Dr John Allan leads on our scientific advisory services and delivers much of our European and Continental airline and airport services - John is currently leading on a series of literature reviews to enable airports and other stakeholders to implement greener solutions without risking adverse effects on aviation safety.

Stuart joined us in 2023 following an extensive recruitment process and brings exceptional ornithological, local government, planning and training experience with him into the world of aviation bird and wildlife strike management.
